this guy was a doodle i wasn't intending to go anywhere with that ended up looking pretty cool. i'm a little obsessed with drawing big godlike creatures without planning them out first, it's fun to try to explain after the fact. is the bell summoning it? containing it? appeasing it? are the ropes and charms evidence of worship or binding? what's the rest of the body look like? up to you, i guess.
i have no idea how to make comics but i really enjoyed doing this. i'm not sure if this god-beast is a one-on-one possesion type deal or if the faceless person is just one of many, like a cult. mostly i was just having fun thinking about how a god might use the bodies of their devout. i'm not super big on the god-beast's design overall, but for what it is it works fine. loved doing the wibbly patterns though
the tumblr caption for this one was "to prevent a reoccurrence of tragedy, the last avatar of the Vellum-swarm was not allowed to die." I think that whoever she is, the host is either not a willing mouthpiece, or at least in some way a victim. she's been locked away to keep the 'vellum-swarm' from gaining more power, and to make sure that it can't withdraw totally to gather its strength again. at some point the swarm probably fades away completely, and she just ends up as an unhuman remnant in eternal prison. rough luck bud...
